Kinkos vs Fedex Office
Granted Kinko was not the best. Poor customer service, pricing issues, slow service- there is something about the brand I miss. Kinko’s inspired me. It was a hub for entreprenuerial types to connect and learn stuff. The brand was a mirror for how interesting being an entreprenuer can be.

Social Media Marketing in 61 Words by @dmscott
You can buy attention (advertising)
You can beg for attention from the media (PR)
You can bug people one at a time to get attention (sales)
Or you can earn attention by creating something interesting and valuable and then publishing it online for free: a YouTube video, a blog, a research report, photos, a Twitter stream, an...

Social Media vs. Trade Shows
Which marketing tool can generate better results? I have my opinion, but I would like to hear what you think.
Using marketing odds in your marketing mix.
An interesting new website that helps calculate the odds of all sorts of information. For example, since its almost Christmas did you know the odds an adult usually puts up a Christmas tree are 1 in 1.2 ? It may seem like worthless information, however, some people will find it very interesting. Check out the site: Book of Odds.
The logo is really cool also.

Well, we probably can’t give all the credit back to Miss Spears, but there are several lessons that small business owners can learn from...

Printed Cards Rock!
Extending a marketing conversation outside of the social network is important. I really like the concept that Enthusem has innovated. Every small business needs to be online and part of a network, however, once everyone is online the noise is deafening. So if an e-mail, tweet, or Linkin Inmail stop producing results take the conversation offline. To me Enthusem (they need a better overall...

99 Designs. Problem?
Lets get something straight, the idea that a talented and skilled person would design before being “actively” commissioned by the buyer is a personal problem. I would NEVER do it ( I have provided spec work in the past, its a loss-loss sum game). These speculative design mill sites like 99 Design and Crowdspring have their detractors and I am one of them. But not for the same...
